Former staff of BCCI have been granted legal aid to sue the Bank of England for negligence in failing to regulate properly the collapsed bank, according to their solicitors.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor, Norman Lamont, is to meet Keith Vaz MP, chairman of the BCCI Campaign Committee, this morning to discuss demands for compensation for depositors in the wake of the Bingham report.
