FURTHER proof of the aircraft industry's woes: Boeing has warned employees at its Seattle base to expect more job cuts. Formal notices have been issued to 422 staff, as part of a continuing job reduction plan.
'It goes across all pay codes and all divisions,' a Boeing spokesman said. Boeing began reducing its workforce about a year ago as it scaled back some defence programmes and began cutting jetliner production. Boeing began the year with 157,500 employees and now has about 144,700.
