AMERICANS have a World Series that isn't a world series at all and foreign affairs do not feature large in the national psyche. So it should come as no surprise that the Salooms last week lost their lawsuit against BA for ignoring warnings of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

In a California court, Judge Judith Keep said it was inconceivable that airlines should stop flying whenever anything happened. After all, they didn't stop flying during the Los Angeles riots . . .
