Bunhill: Calvi or not Calvi?
NEXT MONTH in London an as yet unnamed film goes into production. My spies tell me that the dollars 3m effort, being made by a company called Time Dial, bears an uncanny resemblance to the Roberto Calvi-Banco Ambrosiano story.
'Well, er. . ., how did you hear about the film? We haven't told anyone,' says its producer, Matthew Vaughn.
Apparently it is about a homeless person who is chased around London after having witnessed a murder.
'So is it about Calvi?' I ask.
'Well, let's just say that the scriptwriter may have been influenced by the Calvi affair,' says Vaughn, cryptically.
The film, which will star Michael Gambon and Rupert Graves, is set for release halfway through next year.
