PITY the desperate estate agents and developers who rang a number in Chartered Surveyor Weekly to speak to 'Dr Andreas Streich, a private German investor looking to spend pounds 200m acquiring 1960s office buildings at the end of their leases on the fringes of the City or Docklands.' The magazine said Streich wanted 'to exploit long-term growth potential shunned by UK investors'. Several well-known names were among the callers. The magazine appeared on 1 April and Streich is the German word for prank. Sorry.
