LIKE John Broome and his failed project for Battersea power station, the ceramic tile millionaire Eddie Quiligotti is having to eat humble pie over plans to redevelop Huncoat power station, near Accrington,Lancashire.

His plans for the 300-acre site included year-round summer and winter 'worlds' inside temperature-controlled glass structures. It was to have cost pounds 300m to build, but backers were hard to find. Last week, it was scrapped. Back to the drawing board - and no more disused power stations.
