PERHAPS the finance giant Abbey Life knows something the rest of us don't. Following the spate of seaside bombings they announced last week that they had decided to install a shatter-proof coating on the windows of their HQ building in Bournemouth as protection against terrorist attacks.
As financial institutions have increasingly become IRA targets, this seemed a sensible idea - at least until the events of last week. So has the work now stopped? Not a bit of it. 'Yes, yes, yes it's an ongoing process, and we will finish the building sometime in October,' enthuses a spokesman.
