Carbo buys Italian group for pounds 4.1m

CARBO, the Manchester-based maker of industrial abrasives and plastic injection mouldings, has bought BMA Group, an Italian maker of industrial abrasives, for pounds 4.1m in cash, almost half of which is payable over the next two years.

The existing BMA management will be retained and the acquisition will be earnings enhancing in the first full year.

Carbo shares, which touched 34p last May, rose 0.5p to 12.5p
