Channel rail link costs soar

The cost of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link will increase by between pounds 120m and pounds 170m to over pounds 2.8bn because of amendments to the route accepted by the Government yesterday, including more tunnelling at Barking and Islington and realignment at Thurrock.
