Cheap imports cost 600 jobs

The rising tide of cheap clothing imports from the Far East, eastern Europe, and Mediterranean countries has claimed 600 jobs at the William Baird textile company. Almost half of the job losses are at the men's suits factory in Hartlepool, one of the UK's worst unemployment blackspots where one in seven are out of work.
