THE latest Disney smash hit, Aladdin, is about to weave its magic on Carlton Communications. The film is about to be released on video, and Disney is confidently predicting sales of more than 30 million copies.
Carlton's Technicolor subsidiary duplicates the Disney films, and the growth of the sell- through video market is overcoming fears that technology will eclipse Technicolor's role in video rentals.
Tomorrow's half-year figures should show pre-tax profits up 10 per cent at pounds 54m, reflecting the impact of Pickwick entertainment and the early losses at Carlton TV. Disney should ensure that the shares, at 734p, are well supported.
