INVESTORS still suffering from their post-Christmas hangovers are looking with trepidation towards Bass's annual meeting on Thursday - in each of the last two years, Ian Prosser, Bass's chairman, has delivered disappointing news about Christmas trading.
NatWest Securities believes that this year will be no different: that Mr Prosser will say that apart from food retailing the public house trade is still in the doldrums. So Bass shares may continue to slide.
