EXPECT some flat results from Scottish & Newcastle tomorrow. The brewer's refusal to participate in the price war in the canned lager market at Christmas and the addition of further provisions to cover bad debts among credit customers will result in a small profits rise, from pounds 217m to above pounds 220m. The most cheering item will be the performance of CenterParcs, the group's upmarket family holiday camp business, where occupancy levels have remained high despite the recession.
