PROFITS AT Clubhaus rose 139 per cent to pounds 3.4m (pounds 1.4m) as a 36 per cent rise in membership and the launch of its own range of goods helped to offset poor weather in the half to 30 June.

The UK and continental golf course operator, which recently announced a pounds 20.6m investment in health and fitness facilities at nine of its clubs, opened new clubhouses at Castle Royal, Berkshire and Vichy, France, and a new course at Three Rivers in Essex.
