Coal and oil production rise

UK production of coal, oil, and natural gas rose by 7.6 per cent in the first quarter of 1993 against the same period last year. Oil production rose 11 per cent to 36.9 million tons. Measured in oil equivalent, gas output increased by 10 per cent to 24.5 million tons but coal fell by 5.1 per cent to 7.3 million tons.
