James Moore: If it's money you love, keep an eye on Cupid
Outlook Well, someone certainly loves Cupid. The dating website that has been the subject of some unattractive reports about its business practices was still in the clouds yesterday, although its shares haven't quite made up all the ground lost after the BBC shot a poisoned arrow through its heart.
They say money can't buy you love, but the City loves money, money, money, and shrewdies with spread-betting accounts have probably made an awful lot of it out of the recent shenanigans.
Then there are all those takeover rumours that keep swirling around the business, although with £9m cash in the bank management surely wouldn't need to be saying "rescue me" to any suitor just yet. Still, it only needs a rumour for the shares in a company like this to be veritably dancing on the ceiling. Keep your eye on this one. There's no telling where it'll end up, but the journey might prove to be something of a thriller.
