Jim Armitage: TSB should not say Yes to an old Lloyds hand
Outlook Speaking of Lloyds, I hear the black horse bank's young foal TSB will be appointing its new chairman in the next couple of weeks.
Dennis Holt, a former Lloyds board member, and two others have reached the last stages of the process at the bank that likes to say "Yes." Should be a fun job, leading a FTSE 250 flotation in the middle of next year.
But I can't help thinking they'd do better hiring a woman who's not been at the Lloyds stable before. Key to TSB's marketing story is to ice the perception that it is simply Lloyds Lite.
