Brazilian coffee exporters reported few sales over the last week due to high domestic prices and seasonal sluggishness as the year comes to an end.
A spokesman at the Federation of Brazilian Exporters (FEBEC) confirmed the low volume. He said the approach of the end-of- year holidays traditionally saw the number of deals reduced.
There were also reports of complaints from exporters that high prices and the scant supply of coffee in the local market were not satisfying domestic or international demand. At the same time others argued coffee buyers were waiting for better prices. Prices are expected to remain steady.
