BRENT crude oil prices for delivery in January sank to a low of dollars 18.58 yesterday, pulled down by the apparent lack of demand for crude products such as heating oil and gasoil. The fall in crude prices was also attributed to the market's disappointment with Opec's latest agreement.
Base metals prices were mostly lower on the LME with selling pressure generally winning the day. Aluminium was resilient, despite a 22,275-tonne rise in warehouse stocks as heavy trade buying and short-covering rallied the market from support around dollars 1,210.
