Year to 31 December
ISA International, which distributes electronic components, made record pre-tax profits of pounds 4.3m, up 57 per cent. Earnings per share were 7.46p (5.52p). Final dividend 1.1p makes 1.65p, up 10 per cent.
Watmough, the printing concern, made pre-tax profits of pounds 15.4m, up from pounds 12.2m. EPS 15.9p (13p). Dividend 6.6p (5.75p).
Fairey, the electronics company, made pre-tax profits of pounds 21.8m ( pounds 17.3m). EPS 37.8p (33.4p). The dividend was 11.8p (10.2p).
Calderburn, the office furniture maker, made pre-tax profits of pounds 2.1m ( pounds 2.8m). EPS 5.7p v 7.4p. Final dividend 4.9p, making 7.7p (7.7p).
Scotia Holdings made a pre-tax loss of pounds 6.4m against a loss of pounds 1.8m last time. The loss per share was 12.5p compared with 3.9p in 1992.
Others
Automagic, the shoe repairer, saw pre-tax profits more than double to pounds 1,630,000 ( pounds 76,000) in the 28 weeks to 11 January, despite sales falling by pounds 400,000 to pounds 6m. Earnings were 1.9p against 0.9p. No dividend.
Midland Independent Newspapers, the regional newspaper group which is coming to the market, said its share placing and public offer was seven times subscribed.
GKN has approved the company's takeover offer for Westland at an extraordinary general meeting. Shareholders also passed approvals to give effect to the second instalment of the company's rights issue.
