Watson & Philip, the convenience store retailer, is to spend pounds 3m rebranding its 335-strong chain under the Alldays name.

Conrad, the Manchester sports and consultancy company, made pre-tax profits in the year to 30 June of pounds 100,230 against a loss of pounds 1.5m the previous year. There is no dividend.

CH Bailey, the ship repairer, made annual losses of pounds 189,710 compared with a profit of pounds 446,379 for the year to 30 March. Lps 0.32p (eps 0.74p). No dividend.

Elys (Wimbledon) made pre-tax profits of pounds 107,000 ( pounds 74,000) in the six months to 30 July. Eps 6p (4.1p). The company said consumer confidence had returned with linens, soft furnishings and electricals showing substantial growth.

Aran Energy, the oil and gas explorer, made pre-tax profits of I pounds 1.6m I pounds 3.36m. Eps 0.2p (1p).

Bruntcliffe Aggregates made pre- tax profits of pounds 792,000 ( pounds 132,000) and declared an interim dividend of 0.4p. The company is selling its Lorasen Coal business for dollars 2.4m.

Fired Earth, the terracotta company, made pre-tax profits of pounds 60,000 (loss pounds 94,000). Eps 0.8p (lps 1.25p). No dividend.

Hornby, the toys company, made pre-tax loss of pounds 733,000 (losses pounds 791,000). Lps 5.4p (5.9p). No dividend.

Keller, the engineer, made pre-tax profits of pounds 3m ( pounds 2.1m). Eps 4.5p (2.4p). Dividend 0.5p.

Macallan-Glenlivet, the whisky distiller, made pre-tax profits of pounds 2.6m ( pounds 2.2m). Eps 1.6p (1.4p). Dividend 0.4p (0.36p)

Midland Independent Newspapers, the publisher, made pre-tax profits of pounds 4.8m (1.9m). Eps 3.8p (2.5p). Dividend 1.1p (nil)

OIS International Inspection, the maker of technical monitoring equipment, made pre-tax profits pounds 60,000 ( pounds 1.4m). Eps 0.2p (3.4p). Dividend 0.5p (0.7p).
