Royal Bank of Scotland said its Rhode Island subsidiary Citizens Financial made dollars 7.2m net in the quarter to 30 June, 16 per cent better than a year earlier. Net income in the nine months of its fiscal year was dollars 13.8m, 80 per cent up on a year earlier.
Specialeyes, the opticians, lost pounds 333,000 (loss pounds 696,000) in the 24 weeks to 15 May on sales of pounds 9.49m (pounds 9.09m). Loss per share 2.18p (3.51p).
TR Smaller Companies said net asset value rose 17.5 per cent to 182.6p (155.4p) at 31 May. Final dividend 2.3p, making 3.8p (3.7p).
EFM Java Trust said net asset value increased 20 per cent to 39.3p (32.9p) in the six months to 30 June. No interim dividend.
Independent Investment Co paid a dividend of 0.6p (0.5p) in the year to 30 June. Net asset value 60.11p.
DC Cook made pounds 550,000 (pounds 121,000) before tax in the year to 30 April. Earnings per share 2.03p (1.08p). Final dividend 0.6p, making 0.6p (0.5p).
Great Portland Estates, the property group, said its rights issue of 59.28 million shares was 91.13 per cent taken up.
