Danka to axe 1,400 jobs

DANKA Business Systems, the troubled photocopier distributor, is to axe 1,400 jobs as it fights to cut costs in an attempt to stave off bankruptcy. The cost-cutting measures will trigger a mammoth restructuring charge of pounds 268m against profits. Before exceptionals, Danka lost pounds 40.2m in the third quarter. .
