Davis steps into Newmarch's shoes

Prudential, Britain's biggest insurer, will present Peter Davis, former chairman of Reed, as its new chief executive today, as it announces its results for 1994. Mr Davis, already a non-executive director of the Pru, succeeds Mick Newmarch, who resigned abruptly in January after tussles with the regulatory authorities.
