Three regional electricity companies have cut charges for domestic consumers from the end of this month under the price cap agreed with the regulator, Offer. Customers of Southern Electric will save about £6 a year and those of London Electricity and Yorkshire Electricity will typically save about £8 and £10 respectively.
The cuts are separate from the new price cap review being conducted by Professor Stephen Littlechild, director-general of Offer, for implementation in April 1996.
