Exide makes Welsh investment

Exide Corporation of the US is to invest more than pounds 6m in the production of automotive batteries in Wales, creating 200 jobs. The decision to locate the factory at Cwmbran follows agreement by the Welsh Office that it will provide pounds 1.7m in development grants over three years. Production begins in September and will be fully phased in next year.
