LAWYERS for depositors of the failed Bank of Credit and Commerce International have filed a dollars 55m ( pounds 35m) civil lawsuit against Robert Altman, the former US Defence Secretary Clark Clifford, and lawyers for BCCI and First American Bankshares Inc.
According to District of Columbia court documents filed on Friday, the suit alleges Clifford and Altman had 'an irreconcilable conflict of interest'.
BCCI illegally owned four US banks including First American, which was run by Clifford and Altman for a decade before regulators ordered its sale.
