THE world's first commercial plant for converting natural gas into liquid fuel will start production of jet fuel, diesel and other products in March. The Shell MDS plant in the East Malaysian state of Sarawak - a collaborative venture between the Anglo-Dutch oil company, Mitsubishi, the Malaysian national oil company and the Sarawak government - plans to export 80 per cent of its output to Japan.
