Fund managers optimistic on rates

UK fund managers no longer expect a rise in base rates, according to a Smith New Court-Gallup poll out today. The 12-month forecast stands at 6.7 per cent against 7 per cent in August, according to the poll. On inflation, the managers were upbeat, with 49 per cent expecting a rise in the retail price index against 67 per cent last month.
