Further blow for `names'

Some Lloyd's of London names, already hit by losses in the insurance market, have suffered further as a result of the Barings collapse.

"The anecdotal evidence is that a number of names had money on deposit at Barings, having liquidated assets to pay their Lloyd's losses, an insider said, "but the number of names involved is thought to be very small."
