STEPHEN Merrett, deputy chairman of the council of Lloyd's, faces the possibility of being sued by the executors of his mother's own estate. Syndicate 418 (1985) Names' Association, which represents 4,000 Lloyd's names, including his mother's executors, is threatening to sue Merrett Underwriting Agency, Mr Merrett himself and the firm's auditors for negligence after the Merrett Syndicate 418 incurred heavy insurance losses.
