THE United Arab Emirates government has been urged by its federal spending watchdog to introduce income tax as part of a package to slash its 1.4bn dirhams (dollars 381m) budget deficit. The UAE earned dollars 12bn from oil in 1991, down from dollars 20bn in 1981.
