N&P decision 'will take a month'

Directors of National & Provincial Building Society decided yesterday to provide further information to potential bidders to ensure that all offers are comparable. N&P said yesterday it would probably take about a month to consider final offers. The society has received around half a dozen bids including one of at least pounds 1.1bn from Abbey National.
