Profits soar

Swedish telecommunications group LM Ericsson, riding the global wave of growth in the mobile telephone market, reported a 40 percent jump in half-year profits. Pre-tax profit rose to 3.215bn crowns (about pounds 287m) from 2.29bn a year earlier.
