WOMEN patients at the antenatal clinic at Lowenstromska Hospital near Stockholm, Sweden, are using smart cards to carry medical records of their pregnancies. The cards, made by Canon, can store more than four megabytes of data, including test results and ultrasound images. Each gives midwives a complete, easily accessible record of the pregnancy.
