Motorists are in for a smoother ride, thanks to an optical system for measuring steering-wheel movement developed by the automotive research company Sira. Sira says the optical system will provide cheaper and more reliable adaptive suspension. This type of suspension needs to know how the driver is turning the steering wheel, so that it can control the hardness of the ride.
