Innovation: Strapped for cash

A company in Goole, Humberside has developed a machine for recycling the metal strapping used to fasten heavy parcels. The Cobra coiler, made by Askew Engineering, winds the metal into coils.

'Instead of paying to have used banding taken away, users can look forward to a regular cheque from their local scrap merchant,' says the inventor, Frank Askew.
