Innovation: Travelling late

The travel information company, AT&T Istel, has set up a late holidays database, which will give travel agents a single source of information about vacancies. This will put to an end the current cumbersome, and unreliable, practice whereby tour operators have to fax details to every agent, and allow agents to access the information via their existing computer terminals. It will be particularly welcome as the peak season for late travel bookings starts this month.
