Jarvis shares recover on RMT deal

SHARES IN the transport-services company Jarvis rebounded yesterday after the company said it had resolved an industrial dispute in its railway division.

The company said employees belonging to the transport union RMT had formally accepted its proposals for new working practices. The announcement brings to an end a 10-month dispute with its railway track workers, that forced the company to issue a profits warning.

The shares rose 13p to 472.5p, having touched 515p earlier. Last June's industrial action knocked the shares off a high of 787.5p and they hit 455p by 23 September.
