JOHNSON Matthey, the British metals company, and its subsidiaries in Australia and Pennsylvania stole millions of dollars' worth of metals intended for General Motors, the car maker said in a civil suit filed in Wisconsin.
Johnson Matthey has supplied GM with metals for making catalytic converters since 1984. GM began suspecting problems in 1988, the US District Court suit said. The suit requests payment for undelivered metals, punitive and compensatory damages, and lawyers' fees.
