AN American hi-tech company is to open a factory in Londonderry, creating 500 jobs. Seagate Technology, of Minneapolis, is due to begin work next month building a plant to make disk drive components.
Initial employment levels in one of Britain's most economically deprived areas will be about 250. At full capacity there will be work for around 500. Production is due to begin in early 1994.
