Laing sale

PERSIMMON, one of the UK's biggest housebuilders, has agreed to buy the Scottish housebuilding division of Laing Homes Limited for about pounds 18m in cash. The price represents a pounds 1.3m discount to Laing's book value. Laing said it would take a total loss of pounds 1.6m on the disposal.
