Laporte sale raises pounds 27m

Laporte, the speciality chemicals group, has sold three subsidiaries of its plastic laminates division to NatWest Ventures in a deal worth pounds 27m. The divisions, including Chamberlain Phipps coatings, achieved profits of pounds 3.9m on sales of pounds 34.6m last year.
