The Maxwell Pensioners Trust, which has now raised pounds 5.75m in charitable donations, has made its first payments to needy victims of the Maxwell fraud.

Around 40 ex gratia pensioners, whose pensions ceased at the end of 1991, share in an initial payout of pounds 16,000.
