CONSUMER CREDIT grew strongly in May, according to new economic data, with net lending up by pounds 1.3bn, more than expected. However, other figures yesterday painted a more sluggish picture. June growth in M0, the narrow measure of money, was weaker than expected at 0.2 per cent month-on-month.
