Denby Pottery, owned by restructuring business Hilco, has purchased Poole Pottery, which was founded in 1873 and is known for its bright designs.

Denby was bought by Valco Capital Partners, Hilco's private equity arm, in 2009. After restructuring, it bought Burgess, Dorling & Leigh which makes Burleigh Ware at Middleport. This week it will sign a sale and leaseback of the Middleport factory to the Prince's Regeneration Trust to ensure manufacturing stays at the site.
