Four candidates interviewed for Crossrail's chief executive post

First-round interviews for the chief executive to build Crossrail, the £16bn Heathrow-to-Essex transport link, took place on Friday. Four candidates are believed to have been interviewed, including Rob Holden, the chief executive at London & Continental Railways, which built the high-speed Channel Tunnel rail link.

Terry Morgan, the chief executive of London Underground upgrade group Tube Lines was named as Crossrail chairman last week. He is due to take up the role next November.
