The London-focused bar chain Grand Union is looking to expand from 12 to 20 sites over the next two years. Managing director Adam Marshall said that he expected Grand Union, which is well-known for its award-winning chips, to turnover £6m to £7m this year, and hit £12m by 2011-12.
The debt-free chain makes a profit margin of about 10 per cent, so it should be more than £1m in the black by the end of this growth strategy.
