The Halifax today claimed confidence was returning to the housing market after house prices rose in November.
It said prices were up 0.4 per cent, overcoming a 0.2 percent drop in October, and moderate increases remained the trend.
However, it is expected that a slowing of economic growth in the coming months will restrict house price growth.
Last week, the Nationwide said house prices had rising by 0.9 percent in November.
