Aldi, Asda, Tesco and Waitrose recall soy sauce over safety risk
Products may contain small fragments of glass
Aldi, Asda, Tesco and Waitrose have all recalled their own brand soy sauce products because they may contain small pieces of glass.
The sauces were imported into the UK by World Wise Foods, a Berkshire-based supplier.
The following products are affected:
-
Aldi Asia Specialities Light Soy Sauce
-
Aldi Asia Specialities Dark Soy Sauce
-
Asda Dark Soy Sauce
-
Asda Light Soy Sauce
-
Tesco Dark Soy Sauce
-
Tesco Light Soy Sauce
-
Tesco Reduced Salt Soy Sauce
-
Waitrose Cooks’ Ingredients Light Soya Sauce
-
Waitrose Cooks’ Ingredients Dark Soya Sauce
The Food Standards Agency said the products could present a safety risk, and no other products from Aldi, Asda, Tesco, or Waitrose are known to be affected.
Point of sale notices have been displayed in all retail stores that are selling the affected products, explaining to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
All four supermarkets have offered customers full refunds for the soy sauces.
